New Director Search Information

Opening:  Frontline music director for one of Seattle’s premier a cappella community choruses, the Seattle SeaChordsmen Barbershop Chorus

The SeaChordsmen chorus has been part of the Seattle music scene for 69 years and is very community oriented. We are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in barbershop harmony and performance while maintaining a non-audition membership. The successful candidate for this position will focus the chapter choral activities to produce quality annual shows and assist in the chapter programs that provide local singers an opportunity to develop the vocal skills necessary to make these shows entertaining and well attended. Job Requirements

  • Significant experience in choral directing required
  • Highly skilled teacher and vocal coach
  • Artistic talent - show production experience required
  • Excellent communication and planning skills

Job Description

  • Responsible for all planning and conducting weekly chorus rehearsals
  • Direct chorus performances assist in show planning and production
  • Participate in selection of chorus repertoire 
  • Evaluate chapter quartets for participation in chorus performances
  • Actively work to foster quartet development 

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in choral directing preferred.
  • Acappella choral directing experience required
  • Barbershop harmony experience required
