Donny Rose from Harmony Foundation International joined the SeaChordsmen for rehearsal this week, singing along with us, chatting a bit about the Foundation, coaching one of our quartets as we prep for Singing Valentines, and having fun. He joined us at afterglow, and taught us the tag Gonna Sit Right Here:

moreHow many SeaChordsmen-affiliated quartets can you name?? You can cheat -- there are four listed on our webpage: https://seachordsmen.org/ensembles/97
- Four Ever Young
- Mirth
- The Post-It Notes
- Top of the Hill
On Valentine's Day, these quartets will be joined by pick-up quartets from the chorus to deliver in-person Singing Valentines around the city and virtually over Zoom -- to anywhere in the world!

moreOur Sing With Us program for our holiday show in December was so successful that we've all gotten accustomed to having lots of amazing guests around all of the time. As a result, our videographers have slacked off on their tag-recording practices. But we're back this week with two tags from two first-time guests. moreThe SeaChordsmen are in FULL swing for the new year! And so many of us were excited for afterglow this week! Check out this crowd - here are 15 of us (18, including guests from the bar).
We talked some folks at the bar into singing a tag with us -- check it out:

moreThe chorus presented its Holiday Roadshow at the University House in Issaquah on Tuesday. We had so much fun, and the staff there said they heard rave reviews from the residents who attended! The Four Ever Young quartet was able to present a song during the show. Nice work, Four Ever Young!
Anyone who keeps an eye on the SeaChordsmen knows that many of us love our afterglow time after our Tuesday evening rehearsals! Over the years we've serenaded bar patrons of lots of establishments, and we're still on the hunt for the perfect afterglow venue. Above is the crew enjoying some drinks (and food -- hooray for an open-later kitchen!) at T. S. McHugh's on Mercer Street. There was plenty of indoor space for us, which was great.
The week before, we tried out Targy's Tavern, which was slightly too popular to make for a great afterglow spot, but we had lots of fun anyway, and...
moreThe Mirth quartet was so happy to perform at a retirement party for Maryte! Our lead, Saul, knows Maryte from the Lithuanian community. Tyler, our baritone, knows Maryte from work, since they both (until recently) spend their working hours at The Seattle Public Library. So we sang a few songs to help Maryte celebrate her well-earned retirement.
Here we are singing You've Got a Friend in Me:

moreThe Post-It Notes spent the evening providing some entertainment for the Seattle Pacific University Board of Trustees.
Thanks for having us, SPU!
